Precisely because the craft beer industry is repeatedly plagued by nasty competition and unsightly scandals, the brewers from Bayreuth use their title to stand for friendship and collegiality in the brewing business. The team repeatedly invites brewers from all over the world to collaborate with them. In the course of this collaboration, they get to know each other, exchange experiences, inspire each other and, in the best case, form friendships. In order to get amateurs on board, Maisel / Friends has launched a hobby brewing competition in which young talents have the chance to brew their own brews in the hallowed halls of the Maisel & Friends brewery. Experienced experts are on hand to offer advice and support, and the brewery gets an unbiased view of beer. Win-win!Since 2016, there has also been a project that connects national and international breweries: Hopfenreiter is a Double India Pale Ale that is brewed with different hop varieties every year. The friends of the brewery are responsible for compiling the green gold. Six different breweries (which are selected anew each year) each contribute a hop variety to the collaboration brew. The recipe remains the same, but the taste changes year after year thanks to the hoppy sextet.
